WHAT:    CEO Tools Workshop
TITLE:     Heroic Leadership is Dead:  Long Live the Team!

Marshall Goldsmith’s powerful statement, “What got you here, won’t get you there” rings true now more than ever. Because we live in a complex and comprehensive world, entirely new rules of engagement are needed in order to sustain your company’s competitive advantage.

As a C-Suite Executive, you can no longer be the “Hero”, also known as the “Expert”, “Chief Problem Solver” or “Do-er”. To build an effective team culture, developing the “next wave of leaders” is important as you become the catalyst for change, invigorating and empowering your teams and company to become resilient, adaptable and co-responsible. The two approaches we will explore in this workshop are how to build a high trust environment and use conflict as a creative tool for change and growth.

Using a “Team of Teams” structural approach, Shannon Bruce will show you how to change both your role and your company culture by developing a high level of Conversational Intelligence™, also known as CI-Q™. Applying the practical skills of CI-Q™, Shannon will equip you to align your organization around shared vision, to increase engagement and empower execution. The end result will be quality conversations for you and your teams that enhance both relationships and results for sustainable high performance.

PREPARATION
1. Reflect upon the “Questions the CEO Should Be Asking” and come prepared to share your thoughts.

2. Choose who will attend the Workshop with you (Either another Executive Team Member or your HR Director) and provide the person’s name and e-mail address to [email protected] by 2/29/16.

3. You and your Workshop Attendee will complete independently: – Assessment on “Leadership Behaviors Vital to Building Trust and Embracing Conflict”

– 3 Questions following the Assessment

– Assessment and Answers will be brought to the Workshop Note: See separate handout for this assessment and questions.

4. Take 12 minutes to watch the following videos and come with your questions and insights:

Team of Teams – This will provide you with insights around a new type of organizational structure.
Conversational Intelligence™  – This will provide you with a picture of “possibility” around conversations based on CI-Q™. The context is in a school environment so you will need to imagine what could be possible in a business environment.

Shannon Bruce brings over 20 years of business management and executive leadership experience to StoryBridge, Inc., launched in 2005 and rebranded in 2012, to support Executives, Leaders and Teams committed to creating conscious culture change in their organizations. Shannon is a former CPA, regional and corporate operations manager, and entrepreneur having developed and launched multiple business start-ups. As an Executive and Team Coach, she specializes in “going into companies to create communities” to build high performing teams with peak experiences, resulting in accelerated trust that improves both relationships and top and bottom-line business results.

Shannon’s experience in business and coaching has resulted in broad and deep knowledge of what it takes to build a culture of resilience and adaptability to sustain success. Her expertise is to:
