This past week, the Institute of Museum and Library Services announced that Kitsap Regional Library is one of 30 finalists for the 2016 National Medal for Museum and Library Service. This is a considerable achievement, as the medal has been given for 22 years and is recognized as the highest honor bestowed upon museums and libraries for community service.
According to the Institute’s website, the award recognizes “institutions that demonstrate extraordinary and innovative approaches to public service and are making a difference for individuals, families, and communities.”
